She is an orphan who suffered a lot more than a child should endure, like her brother Wensky, because there is no children's protective services in that area where they live. She was malnourished and mistreated by her Aunt who cares for her after the death of her mother and father. Now she has a new family and new friends. She is very happy and attending school.
